How long does it take to heal after All-on-X?
Whether you’re receiving a single implant or undergoing the All-on-X procedure, the healing process takes approximately 4 to 6 months.
During this time, a process called osseointegration occurs, where your bone fuses with the implant, making it a permanent part of your body. This is possible because the implants are made from biocompatible titanium, which integrates naturally with your bone.
Consider this healing period as a “test drive” for your new teeth. On the day of your All-on-X procedure, you’ll walk in with missing or damaged teeth and leave with a new, fully functional smile. These temporary teeth, known as “healing teeth,” closely resemble what your final teeth will look like.
Throughout the 4 to 6 months, you’ll have plenty of time to assess the color, shape, fit, and bite of your new teeth. Any adjustments can be made, ensuring that your permanent set is exactly how you envision them.

Dr. David C. Suh graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas-City, School of Dentistry with a degree: in Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). He was selected as a top 10 clinician. His undergraduate training was completed at the University of Missouri Kansas City.
Dr. Suh served as a commander in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps for 10 years where he has received additional training in dental specialties. He was stationed with the forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Independence (CV 62), Yokosuka, Japan.
